Nurses No Longer Wear White Uniforms

Written by , Posted in Health

Not too long ago, all nurse uniforms were white. White was the color of the nurses whether it was the dresses, blouses, skirts, pants, hosiery and shoes they wore. They had the white nurse’s hat that symbolized the professional position they held. How did it all start? It all started out as the habit nuns wore during their care of the sick. The color white was chosen because it represented sincerity, purity, and professionalism. It was a symbol worldwide of the medical profession. Today’s nursing uniform has become a fashion statement in the present day medical field. Wearing bright uniforms we now call “scrubs” can be seen in the physician’s office or in the hospital on both men and women in the medical field. White is still the number one choice for the medical professions uniform, but many facilities now see nurses and even doctors wearing a nice printed or colored scrub top with a pair of white scrub pants as part of the medical uniform.

Written by , Posted in Health

Just like any surgery, Laser Surgery for any correction can have severe or mild complications. Whether they occur during or after the surgery, they need to be immediately addressed. Intraoperative Complications are the ones that happen during the operation. Eye Surgery Procedures employing the use of a microkeratome to construct a corneal flap could steer toward many of the complications in the course of the surgery. Perforation in the eye, even though rare, has happen in the past, which is associated mainly with an older microkeratome unit that is mainly due to improper assembly. Some of the other complications associated to the use of a microkeratome involve flap problems, such as thin, perforated, irregular or free flaps. Minute particles might be focused under the flap, causing floaters in the vision. Eye Laser Surgery can be beneficial, but please beware of the complications involved with it.
